What is GovCalculator?

GovCalculator is a decision-support tool that surfaces housing affordability, income limits, and purchasing power context for every U.S. county in the dataset — 3,161 counties across 50 jurisdictions — using only official government public data.

Each county page is pre-rendered from a self-contained record that embeds the relevant HUD income limits and Fair Market Rents, the federal IRS withholding tables, and a snapshot of the BLS CPI-U national inflation series. No data is fetched at runtime. No external services are called when a page loads. Every number is traceable to a primary government source.

Mission

Make official government housing and income data accessible, readable, and actionable — county by county, without guesswork.

Government affordability data is public, but it is scattered across agency portals, formatted for internal use, and not designed for quick human interpretation. GovCalculator aggregates, normalizes, and presents it in a consistent format for every county in the supported dataset.
